Do Russians Need ETA For Sri Lanka?
It is an obvious procedure for any foreign traveler to get an electronic travel authorization to visit Sri Lanka. The same goes for Russian citizens. But in case they are looking to work or stay permanently in Sri Lanka then they cannot apply for Sri Lankan ETA.

If Russian travelers are having a connecting flight through Sri Lanka and have a stay at the airport for more than 8 hours then they can apply for a transit eta. This provides a traveler with 48 hours stay and not more than that.
But in case their stay is less than 8 hours then they do not requirea transit ETA for SriLanka. They just have to provide an onward ticket as proof.
Additionally, Russian passport holders who have dual Russian/Sri Lankan citizenship, or anybody younger than 21 who was born abroad to Sri Lankan parents and has been registered in Sri Lanka, do not need to apply for a Sri Lanka visa from Russia.

It takes only a few minutes to fill in the application form and submit it completely with the payment. Usually, it takes 24 hours to process the ETA for Sri Lanka. Russians also get a priority service in which they get their approved Sri Lankan ETA within an hour.
